for those who would like to plan for a more manageable postpartum
* this stand-alone option will include a multitude of information and resources useful for birth and postpartum. We can chat about all of your thoughts and concerns and establish a birth plan to best suit your birth intentions.
Postpartum/Overnight Care
We will work together to plan a strategy for what will work best for you, your partner, and your baby. Typically, I will arrive around bedtime and leave in the early morning. I will tend to your baby’s every need so that you can relax and sleep soundly while knowing that your newborn is well-cared for.
+ I can help establish a calm, easy bedtime routine. This may look like a soothing bath, preparing healthy snacks for the night and following day, cleaning and prepping bottles, folding baby laundry or other light housekeeping.
+ If you are exclusively nursing, I will bring your baby to you to encourage a night feed. This can be at anytime, as many times as needed. Many mothers prefer to replace 1 or more nursing sessions with a bottle for continuous sleep, though we will customize each night to what you need/what works best.
+ Once fed, I will change and soothe baby back to sleep.
In many situations, I will tidy up the kitchen and any space utilized during my stay. I like to make sure your next day will be as stream-lined as possible so please let me know how I may help do that.
